About us

The Norman Economic Development Coalition is dedicated to expanding the economic base of the Norman community, enhancing the earning opportunities of area residents by retaining and expanding existing businesses and industries, as well as attracting desirable new employers that are consistent with Norman's high quality of life. Established in 1996, the Norman Economic Development Coalition (NEDC) is a joint effort of the University of Oklahoma, the City of Norman, Moore Norman Technology Center and the Sooner Centurions, a committee of the Norman Chamber of Commerce. This unique partnership was formed to work full time on economic development in the Norman community. Primary Areas of Activity: - Support business retention and the expansion of locally based employment centers - Support business creation and technology commercialization - Support needed product improvements including specific business climate and infrastructure changes - Attract desirable new employment centers that complement existing employer base
