Director of Outreach @ U.S. House of Representatives | Environmental Conservation, Community Outreach | Climatebase Fellow Cohort 6
Seeing firsthand the challenges facing our coastal tribal communities serves as an enormous wakeup call. Barriers to resources need to be removed so our tribal communities can get the help they are entitled to because the threat is existential.

NODC is thrilled to be a partner in the North Olympic Peninsula Recompete Coalition (NOPRC), which has just been awarded a grant of $35 million from the Economic Development Administration. Recompete will have a major impact on the regional economy by creating good jobs and providing the training and support to help people get and keep those jobs.
I'm excited to share that the North Olympic Peninsula has been awarded $35 from EDA's Recompete program, one of only 6 awards in the country. More than 500 regions applied for this funding and only 22 finalists were invited to submit Phase 2 applications. I'm incredibly proud of the strong collaboration among local governments, Tribes, economic development organizations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and the private sector that made this award possible. We've been working together on this for more than a year. https://lnkd.in/gYY2UVRA
