Yesterday was a big day for the Office of Graduate Education team! A few members of our office got to meet the St. Andrews Georgian University Cybersecurity MS cohort while others traveled to Ohio University for a graduate school fair. #norseup The OGE is grateful for the opportunities we have to connect with current and prospective graduate students!

✨ Meet Valerie Malott, an NKU alumni who earned her Master of Arts in English ✨ Valerie chose to enroll at NKU due to affordable classes also offered in the evening, the excellent faculty, good location, and small campus! She currently teaches as an English adjunct instructor at UC Clermont, which was her plan all along. “I came to Cincinnati in 1993 to pursue a PhD (philosophy), but I wasn’t ready for the commitment at the time. I have always wanted to teach at the college level, so I knew I’d need at least a master’s degree to achieve that goal,” Valerie said. One piece of advice Valerie would give to someone interested in the English program is to get to know your faculty members and peers. “Get to know the faculty and current grad students. Research the various graduate faculty’s specialties. Creative writing is a major strength of the English program at NKU. Many alumni have gone on to receive their MFA in Creative Writing or PhD in English,” Valerie said. NKU’s online Master of Legal Studies program was developed in conjunction with employers in the field to address the intersection of technology and law and develop today's most in-demand skills.
