Nostrum High Performance is excited to announce our groundbreaking collaboration with Mid Michigan Research and Michigan State University (MSU) on the development of the Jetfire® Ignition System.   The Jetfire® system is designed to provide high efficiency and low emissions, even under high EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) conditions.This innovative system actively controls fuel and air admission to the pre-chamber, leveraging advanced electronic actuators, custom fuel injectors and decades of combustion research. The Gen 4 Jetfire® System, tested at MSU’s Energy and Automotive Research Laboratory (EARL), has demonstrated indicated efficiencies as high as 48.5% with gasoline and over 49% with hydrogen fuel.   Key features of the Jetfire® System include:   • Independent air purge control via concentric camshafts and electric phasers, developed in collaboration with ThyssenKrupp. • Flexibility in fuel use, successfully tested with kerosene, gasoline, diesel, and hydrogen fuels with Nostrum’s custom fuel injectors. • High efficiency and low emissions, making it suitable for both four-stroke and two-stroke operations.   This partnership represents a significant step forward in automotive innovation, combining industry expertise with academic excellence to create a high-speed, high-efficiency, stoichiometric engine technology.
