Nourish is proud to partner with Wake Technical Community College and the STEM Academic Research & Training (START) Program providing these amazing students the opportunity to research food insecurity and sustainability in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. They spent the semester exploring, researching and analyzing the impact of small and large community based organizations resulting in robust recommendations of organizations typically overlooked. Help us congratulate them on a job well done raising awareness of organizations making impact in the food security and sustainability spaces in the Triangle area.

Our HBCU Initiative is in full force! Supporting the next generation of leaders is what we do! We’ve had a busy few weeks with our first stop at North Carolina Central University where we hosted leadership development training for the Undergraduate Teaching Fellows. These EAGLES will be mentors to first year students underscoring the need to enhance their leadership skills! The students explored self awareness, empathy, social awareness, and relationship management during session 1 on Emotional Intelligence. We are excited to continue working with this dynamic group of students as part of our 4 session series on leadership development. Our next stop was to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where we joined AGGIES in the Exceptionalism in Education Initiative Program to share the power of social impact in any industry. These enterprising future engineers and economists learned the power of community service, and the value we all can bring to our communities during the Nourish presentation. Stay tuned, and www.nourish.org for more info and to support our HBCU Initiative!

Huge thank you to Fuckup Nights Raleigh and our fabulous Board Member Elizabeth Ruf for selecting Nourish as the recipient of the proceeds from last night’s F’Up Night event! We had a great time with 4 speakers sharing their stories of failure, normalizing failures and highlighting ways we bounce back! Nourish shares in this mission, we create the safe spaces to learn from failure, use it for innovation and lean on support to create greater impact in our communities!
