About us

For students pursuing their education at Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-KPCOM), the matriculation experience has proven to be both challenging and rewarding. By combining the most contemporary teaching modalities with the newest technology, our students are assured of obtaining the most comprehensive education possible. The KPCOM is the largest medical school in Florida with two locations offering D.O. programs in both the Fort Lauderdale /Davie and Tampa Bay Regional Campuses. Along with three bachelor programs and counting, five masters, and seven certificate programs, the college has set itself apart in heath care education.

  • HONORING THE PATELS - Kiran C. Patel, M.D., and Pallavi Patel, M.D., who have demonstrated extraordinary generosity for the benefit of osteopathic medical education and the future of the osteopathic profession, will be receiving an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Presidential Citation during the AOA’s House of Delegates meeting being held July 19–21 in Chicago, Illinois. Each year, the AOA president recognizes those who have made a significant contribution to the osteopathic medical profession. Through philanthropic gifts, the Patels played pivotal roles in funding a second site in Clearwater, Florida, for NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and helping establish the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine.

  • BROUSSARD, POLAM NAMED KPCOM STUDENT D.O.S OF THE YEAR - Third-year students Danielle Broussard, RDN, LDN, and Sneha Polam were named Student D.O. of the Year at their respective campuses. Broussard was her peer’s choice at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus, while Polam was the selectee at the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. The duo will now represent the KPCOM in the National Student D.O. of the Year competition and have the opportunity to vie for the national award at the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine’s annual conference taking place April 17–19 in Kansas City, Missouri. The National Student DO of the Year is chosen from among the outstanding students selected by their schools as Student D.O. of the Year on the basis of their service to their college, leadership and research experiences, and dedication to the osteopathic profession.

  • FERNANDEZ, PETROSKY NAMED KPCOM RESEARCHER AND PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR - Stephanie Petrosky, D.C.N., M.H.A., RDN, LDN, FAND, associate professor and chair of the Department of Nutrition and director of the M.S. in Nutrition Program, was named 2022-2023 KPCOM Faculty Member of the Year. Isa Fernández, Ph.D., professor and medical researcher, was selected as the college's 2022-2023 Researcher of the Year.
