Hey everyone, We wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that the Fall Conference has been canceled due to the recent devastation in Asheville and the surrounding areas. It is unlikely that the Conference will be rescheduled for this year. The Spring Conference will take place at Wild Dunes Resort, A Destination by Hyatt in Isle of Palms, and the 2025 Fall Conference is scheduled for October 2025 at The Omni Grove Park Inn. Some of our members have asked if their registration fees could be sent to an organization to help the people of Asheville, etc. If you would like to have your fees donated, please let me know by next Friday, October 18th. If you prefer a refund, we are happy to accommodate that as well. Please be patient with us as we navigate through the refund process. We appreciate everyone who had registered and were supporting the Conference. We are extremely disappointed that we are unable to hold it this year, but we look forward to seeing everyone either in April or next October.

🚨 Supply Collection for Western NC 🚨 Hello everyone! Please see the attached message from Nicole Sullivan with SULLIVAN EASTERN INC regarding the collection of supplies for Western North Carolina. If you have any items to donate, your assistance would be greatly appreciated! The drop-off location is 2860 Slater Rd., Morrisville, NC. Trucks will be departing tomorrow at 9 AM and the following week to deliver the supplies. UPDATE: Terrahawk Civil Contractors also intends to collect and transport supplies. They are accepting donations at both their Apex and Lumberton facilities: 1001 Goodworth Dr Apex NC & 1501 Starlite Dr Lumberton NC Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. off Chapel Hill Road plans to send a truck on Saturday morning. Donations can be dropped off at 5701 Chapel Hill Rd, Raleigh, NC. If you are able to volunteer for pick-ups or transport to these locations, that would be greatly appreciated. Urgent Call for Help❗❗❗❗ With the devastating rainfall brought by Helen, many families and friends are still stranded in western part of North Carolina. We've been given the opportunity to help our community, and this is our call to action for the Triangle area to gather as many supplies as we can to help distribute. SEI has partnered with the local organization National Coatings Inc., along with Big Bear Roofing and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, to provide essential supplies to those affected. We're actively collecting donations and transporting them to McDowell County for distribution until further notice. 🗓️ Collection Details: 📍 Location: 2860 Slater Rd, Morrisville, NC 27560 🕗 Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM 🛒 What We Need: Non-perishable food items and essential supplies. I do not post often on my LinkedIn account. But I wanted to share with all of my followers, contacts, colleagues, and my friends in our industry something heavy on my heart tonight. By now most all of you have seen and many of you have witnessed and even experienced the unimaginable destruction from Hurricane Helene. I want to ask all of my followers and my friends to please take time to pray for, reach out and help, donate, and give what you can to support agencies and organizations that are helping everyone and all the communities affected by this devastating event. There are literally thousands of construction workers and first responders descending on these communities right this very moment to render aide to those in need. And the needs are staggering. The losses much to bear for so many. My heart is with all First Responders, the folks from the Departments of Transportation, the Utility workers, the Construction Industry personnel coming from all over the country to help. Please keep them all in your prayers that they remain safe in their work and please give and help where you can. These repairs and task ahead of them are difficult in scope and magnitude. Please remember them all and our citizens who have suffered such tremendous losses.

**ATTENTION** NUCA of the Carolinas Young Leaders! We are hosting and outreach event at West Johnston High School on October 24th. Come help us educate juniors and seniors about the opportunities available to them in the utility construction industry! This school visit will include a presentation and a hands-on activity or demonstration to give students a real feel for our industry.  We need help from our fellow contractors to participate in this event and inspire the next generation of industry professionals. EVENT HIGHLIGHT - A note from The Great Raleigh Cleanup: What an incredible job on Sunday (9/15)! The team jumped right into action and worked with amazing thoroughness. Thanks to a few bags of litter that were waiting for us, along with an old headboard, your efforts totaled an impressive 440 pounds of litter removed—hell of a job! This program employs individuals experiencing homelessness in Raleigh to help keep our city clean.
