On October 9th from 7pm to 8pm, Nurturing Change will host an online event for parents called “Healing Kids’ Brains, Emotions, and Behaviors: An Introduction to TBRI®.” During this time, we’ll learn how stressful events change kids’ brains and why these changes cause traditional discipline approaches not to work. Then, we’ll introduce TBRI®, a parenting approach that will help you better understand your child’s needs, avoid power struggles, and connect with your child while preventing and correcting challenging behaviors! What a year 2023 was, thanks to Nurturing Change's generous supporters! Thanks to your gifts, prayers, and encouragement, three new programs were introduced this year to serve the most vulnerable kids and families of Central Texas! The support of our donors fueled the launch of our TBRI training classes and TBRI Implementation Virtual Support Group for Parents. Participating parents are already reporting measurable results in their improved ability to connect with their kids and heal trauma-based behaviors! In addition to our family programs, we launched a year-long partnership with Connections Individual and Family Services, with Nurturing Change beginning a year's worth of TBRI training and support to the staff and leadership of their Children's Shelter and Transitional Living Programs. The staff are excitedly embracing the new concepts they are learning and are already reporting an enhanced ability to meet the needs of the kids they serve! Thanks to you, 2023 has been a year of blessing for our community, but there is still much work to be done. As we begin 2024, we want to equip even more parents and professionals to meet the needs and heal the hearts of kids who have experienced trauma. But this will only be possible with your help. Will you please make a year-end tax-deductible gift to bring healing to more kids and families in 2024? Your gift of any amount will be matched dollar for dollar when you gift before midnight tomorrow! Please know that your donation is very much needed and will go a long way toward healing the hurts of kids within our community. Please make your gift here: https://lnkd.in/gh4BhJ2Z As I reflect on 2023 and Dream of 2024, I am humbled and grateful for you. We truly cannot do this work without you. Warmest Wishes, Amanda Herron Founder & CEO of Nurturing Change
