Each year, the human supplements market uses 300 million metric tons of omega-3 oil, and the aquaculture industry uses 900 million metric tons. Together, these markets are valued at $5 billion per year, and these markets are growing, and they need more oil. However, the ocean fish used for omega-3 oil are a finite commodity.
