Another exciting robotics application happening right here in Brooklyn, New York! As urban areas continue to grow and the demand for fast, efficient grocery delivery rises, automation is becoming a crucial part of the solution. These new warehouse robots are helping to streamline operations, manage inventory, and improve delivery times, ultimately making grocery services more accessible in densely populated areas. I expect we’ll see even more advancements in automation that will drive the last mile (and maybe last 100 yards) - especially within the grocery space, with it unique constraints on freshness and time-to-table. Exciting times ahead for both robotics and the grocery industry! #robotics #futureofwork #techforgood https://lnkd.in/enGT8dZa

Very interesting news from the Tribeca Citizen happening right here in New York! When people think of robots, the image in their head is often a metal arm working in a factory, or perhaps something out of a movie walking around their house. With one of those the most common use-case for robots, and the other being something we may see very soon, it's easy to forget that a fully automated parking lot like the Tribeca Car Vault (https://lnkd.in/eg7-_tq6) is just as much a robot as its waving, smiling counterparts. In fact, we are quickly moving towards a future where we may be surrounded by intelligent robots that sense and act based on human input, but look nothing like the robots we see today. This trend towards the full automation of an every-day convenience or need is something we are seeing with more frequency, especially in domains where robotics and automation offer specific advantages - like the case of a parking garage in a city where space is at a premium, and it is nearly impossible to accommodate people while packing cars at such high density. We've seen similar moves to completely automated daily services such as in the fast food industry, and similar efforts in the manufacturing space as well (Standard Bots here in NY is working in that space). It likely won't be long before fully automated factories of highly orchestrated robots are doing dangerous but important work, with people with their unique expertise still involved, but keeping a watchful eye from a safe distance. More and more, New York is becoming the home for robotics and automation that solves brick-and-mortar problems, with companies doing everything from robots for construction, to manufacturing, to art, (and our fair share of humanoids too). It's exciting to be part of an ecosystem that is building a competency for solving real-world problems in unique ways with robotics - even if those robots might look less Wall-E and more "walk-up". #robotics #automation #madeinny #nytech #nyrn #futureofwork #100daysofcode https://lnkd.in/ep--qK5T

We were pleased to be a community sponsor for the Deep Tech Forum hosted by our Founding Partner Monozukuri Ventures and HAX during Climate Week. Susan Schofer gave a great keynote and our own Jacob Hennessey-Rubin rocked the panel discussion along with Stacey Weismiller of US Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Ji Ke from HAX/SOSV. Thanks to Nobuhiro Seki and Sabrina Sasaki from Monozukuri and Duncan Turner from HAX for including us. #nyrn #nyrobotics #nyctech #deeptechforum #nyclimateweek

Check out the latest from the New York Post and Lydia Moynihan's NYNext Series featuring New York Robotics Network Founding Partner, Standard Bots. Evan Beard is a natural and apparently has a future in not just robotics but the movies. Lydia Moynihan, who last year interviewed Eric Schmidt and is often called upon as a correspondent by CNBC and Fox Business Network, does a quality job interviewing Evan about training the Standard Bots R01 robot to learn tasks using machine learning, artificial intelligence in robotics, reindustrialization and more. Our own Randy Howie even gets a cameo. https://lnkd.in/e832CbRY #NYRN #nyrobotics #standardbots #machinelearning #ai #reindustrialize #newyorkpost
