Dr. Marc Triola, associate dean for educational informatics and professor of medicine at NYU Langone Health, recently joined Dr. Mark Pochapin MD on SiriusXM's Doctor Radio show, “Chief Rounds,” to discuss AI's transformative role in healthcare. As the founding director of the Institute for Innovations in Medical Education (IIME), Dr. Triola is a self-described “AI optimist.” He sees incredible potential for AI to enhance patient care—from answering patient questions to improving chronic condition management and even leading to more accurate diagnoses. “I see AI as a co-pilot, supporting doctors by ensuring our decisions are backed by the most up-to-date evidence specific to each patient.” Dr. Triola’s forward-thinking approach underscores NYU Langone’s commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care. For the first time, NYU Langone Health's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team from the Office of Science and Research welcomed 53 middle school students for an immersive experience focused on future careers in science and research. In partnership with New York University, this innovative program equips students with the skills and insights needed to thrive in their post-secondary education and early career paths. The full-day event featured a dynamic blend of lectures and interactive sessions led by researchers, scientists, and medical students at NYU Langone, offering the middle schoolers a unique “behind-the-scenes” look at academic pathways they might not otherwise encounter. “It was an extraordinary day for everyone involved, both the students and the members of the OSR community who participated in the various events,” says Marie Bragg, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Population Health and director of diversity initiatives for the Office of Science and Research. “I don’t use the term loosely when I say that it was a ‘pay it forward’ moment for our team. Many of our participants particularly enjoyed the opportunity to take a break from their labs and showcase their work.” Learn more about NYU Langone Health’s Office of Science and Research: https://bit.ly/3ZJ6SaJ
