OAC had a great time participating in Cochran, Inc and Skanska’s Bear Creek Rehabilitation and Tree Planting Event! 🌿🌳   This day of hands-on environmental action was filled with planting, workshops, and family-friendly activities, kicking off Construction Inclusion Week in the best way possible. Special thanks to the City of Redmond, WA for providing valuable training on planting and protecting the trees with screens to keep them safe from beavers!   The event supported the revitalization of Bear Creek Trail Park, and was a fantastic opportunity to give back, foster sustainability, and make a lasting impact in our local community. #Sustainability #CommunityEngagement #ConstructionInclusionWeek

The City of Everett, WA’s booming growth called for a courthouse that could meet their evolving needs. 🚨 A milestone moment for Mount Vernon! On Saturday, hundreds gathered for the ribbon cutting of the Mount Vernon Library Commons—the largest project in city history. The new facility features a public library, a teen and STEM center, a community conference center, a commercial kitchen, and the country’s largest EV charging station. Its all-electric, energy-efficient design showcases local art and uses 80% less energy than the city’s current library, built in the 1950s. The event featured live music, an EV car show, and tours of the new building. A true collaboration between local, state, and federal leaders made this vision a reality! Exciting update! The Mount Vernon Library Commons will feature local artist Cheryl Wheeler's vibrant "Generational Wisdom" artwork, wrapping the largest transformer in Puget Sound Energy’s network. This colorful artwork, selected by the Mount Vernon Arts Commission, shows families sharing knowledge across generations in a Skagit County farm setting, celebrating growth and learning. Exciting news for Loon Lake! A new 5,000-square-foot community library is coming next fall, offering dedicated spaces for children, teens, and community events. Libraries of Stevens County recently held a groundbreaking, with construction starting this fall. This $3-million project will replace the aging 1974 branch and is part of the Stevens County Libraries Legacy Project, which also includes the renovation of libraries in Northport, Chewelah, and Colville.
