Portland Community College has shared its 2022-23 Giving Report, which included Lewis’ scholarship recipient Mara Pope’s story (page 6) of her path to trades education and her passion for machine manufacturing. Her story is inspiring and showcases the importance of these programs in reducing the barriers to trade careers. “The PCC Foundation came through for me with the Lease Crutcher Lewis Scholarship, which covered my costs and left me free to focus on learning.”—Mara Pope We are excited to share Mara’s story and follow her progress as she works toward becoming a certified machine manufacturing technician.

From students to interns and now coworkers, this friend group has overcome a lot together! Jaron McGillivray, Kayla Kumle and Paige Dieckmann built a friendship in the classroom in the construction engineering management program at Oregon State University. They then took internships at Lewis together, where they leaned on each other to navigate the real-world challenges of construction. Finally, they all accepted positions together as project engineers out of our Eugene, Oregon office. Congrats to you all, and welcome to Lewis!

The 222 5th Ave. life science project team has won a 2024 Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) Honors Award for design and construction excellence! 🏆 Built by Lease Crutcher Lewis steps from Seattle Center, the building features steel-reinforced cast-in-place concrete placed by Crutcher Structures. It incorporates a unique seismic system with an offset shear wall core and moment frames. Designed with life-science-ready floors and long-span flat-plate slabs, the project maximizes seismic performance, vibration control, and architectural flexibility. We extend our gratitude to our partners including CKC Structural Engineers, Farwest Steel Corporation and Gensler. It’s been six days since Fred Hutch's Obliteride, and I’m still in awe of the incredible partnerships and community spirit that came together to make this event so special. 🚴♂️💪 The photos are rolling in from our teammates which capture moments of biking, walking, running, volunteering, and fundraising that brought us all together for a cause we deeply care about: obliterating cancer. This year we were proud to step up as the safety sponsor and alongside our friends at NBBJ Design a rest stop sponsor, ensuring that everyone had a safe and supportive experience. I’m thrilled to share that as of today the Lease Crutcher Lewis & Friends team has raised an astonishing $165,770 for Fred Hutch—an amazing 133% of our goal for the year! I couldn’t be more proud of our collective efforts. Thank you to everyone who contributed, whether you were on the ground or supporting from afar. Your dedication is what makes this all possible.

Jersey reveal! 🚴♂️ This Saturday during Obliteride, the Lewis & Friends team will be rocking these during the 25, 50, and 100-mile bike rides. We’ll be pedaling with a purpose: to help Fred Hutch accelerate leading-edge research and urgently needed advances in cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and cures. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve raised an astounding $149,221 and counting, or 119% of our fundraising goal. We couldn’t have done it without the generous support of Lewis employees and their families and our incredible trade partner community (see below). Here's to an unforgettable weekend of riding, running, walking, volunteering, fundraising, and making a difference! Hope to see you there. Earlier this year, we proudly completed construction on Washington 1000, a stunning 17-story, 546,000-square-foot tower from Hudson Pacific Properties at the crossroads of three downtown neighborhoods. Designed by LMN Architects, Washington 1000 features expansive 36,500-square-foot floorplates and workspaces that bring the outdoors in with an abundance of natural daylight. Two terraces and a rooftop amenity lounge with an outdoor deck provide the perfect blend of indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxation and productivity. Cyclists will feel right at home with a club-like bike lounge, complete with private showers and lockers. Additionally, state-of-the-art conference facilities ensure that every need is met for professionals on the go. It was a pleasure partnering with LMN Architects and Hudson Pacific to deliver this exceptional building.
