🌊 "The Ocean breathes for us." 🌊 On this #WorldMentalHealthDay, we're highlighting the deep connection between mental well-being and the Ocean, as shared by our Science & Knowledge Holder, Easkey Britton —surfer, marine scientist, and passionate advocate for the healing power of water. 🌱 A champion for mental and physical health, Easkey reflects on key insights from her books Ebb and Flow and Saltwater in the Blood, exploring how water connects us to each other, ourselves, and the natural world. Her words remind us that “every second breath we take comes from the ocean,” and that “the act of breathing is an act of symbiosis.” As someone who has spent her life surfing the world’s waves, Easkey understands the Ocean as a source of restoration and connection, especially in times of disconnection. She speaks of how we are held in water from birth, linking us to the sea, and how the Ocean can help restore our focus, mental clarity, and state of wellness. Follow along with Oceanic Global, Easkey Britton, World Surf League to explore how we can connect to the state of the Blue Planet — within ourselves and on the ground through various conservation initiatives. “It’s time for us to change our key economic system so that we can account for the true value of living in nature…” 🌊 Naoko Ishii, a leading voice in global sustainability, brings her extensive expertise as a Professor at The University of Tokyo, Director of the Center for Global Commons, and former CEO and Chairperson of the Global Environment Facility. She illuminates the urgent need to transform our global economic infrastructure into a system that truly sustains our planet.
