Oceanit's Resilient and Sustainable Engineering (RiSE) team and our intern joined the Friends of Kamalani, Lydgate Park, and concerned community members last Saturday at Lydgate Beach Park for a talk-story session on how Oceanit can better engineer a solution for Morgan's ponds breakwater maintenance project! The Lydgate Beach Park has a sheltered beach area for small children and families to swim in called Morgan's Pond, but it has been plagued with debris flooding in from a nearby river due to rain and strong winds. On this trip to the park, Oceanit collected information from the community and some environmental data about the pond, such as the current. Look forward to how Oceanit will help change the park! #engineering #kauai

Our Resilient & Sustainable Engineering (RiSE) team was at work in Kailua-Kona to fix their flooding issue by conducting a thorough flood control study of the Keopu-Hienaloli streams. With the support of the Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Public Works, our work identified effective flood control measures, offering long-term solutions to protect the town from heavy storm floods. Some of the work provided includes a topography survey, LiDAR and aerial surveys, and a comprehensive environmental assessments. #EnvironmentalEngineering #FloodControl #Hawaii #KailuaKona https://lnkd.in/giRErpAm

On July 13th, Oceanit Research Foundation have successfully concluded the six-month Climate Change Toolkit Program with a final presentation at Paia Mantokuji Temple! This program with 5 student ambassadors aimed to protect the Mantokuji temple from coastal erosion by gathering data on the bay and developing a sustainable coastal adaptation strategy. It equipped students with essential skills in data collection, problem-solving, and community engagement. Special thanks to our attendees, including State Representative Mahina Poepoe and others. Oceanit plans to expand this program to other coastal communities in Hawaii. https://lnkd.in/g8t8ctk9

Allied partnerships in the Indo-Pacific are highlighting the need for military readiness. Corrosion costs the DoD $20B annually and grounds up to 50% of certain U.S. aircraft at a given time. AeroPel is the solution! Oceanit and Lockheed Martin are collaborating to combat corrosion, enhancing mission capable rates in the region. Discover how this innovation keeps our fleets ready for any challenge in the Defense One article! https://lnkd.in/gFcyghm8 #corrosion #AeroPel #MilitaryReadiness #IndoPacific
