U.S. News & World Report has named Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans (OMC), inclusive of Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank and Ochsner Baptist, the Best Hospital in Louisiana for the 13th consecutive year! 🎉🎉🎉 Additionally, OMC is the No. 1 hospital in the New Orleans metro area. U.S. News also announced Tuesday, July 16, that six specialties ranked in the nation's top 10%: gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery, and urology. As part of the annual review, Ochsner hospitals also received more than 30 additional accolades from U.S. News, including Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center ranking as the No. 1 hospital in Southwestern Louisiana. Oct. 1 marked National Hair Day, celebrating hair's beauty and significance. We hosted our inaugural "Revive & Renew: Styling Confidence Post Chemo" workshop at Ochsner Medical Complex - The Grove in partnership with the Ochsner Cancer Institute and EGGIE Salon Studio. With the expertise of Rachel Eggie Gibbs from EGGIE Salon Studio, our event instilled confidence in post-treatment cancer patients. Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine celebrated their five-year anniversary on Sept. 26, 2024, and what a celebration it was! 🎉 Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has cared for more than 33,000 patients across the region, plus performed over 20,0000 surgical procedures in their eight operating rooms, since opening the doors in September 2019. "As we reflect on the past five years, I am immensely proud of our team's dedication and hard work," said George Chimento, MD, chair of orthopedic surgery at Ochsner Health. "Ochsner’s unwavering commitment to providing outstanding orthopedic care has truly transformed many lives in our community, getting our patients back to an active life." Ochsner Health physicians, advanced practice providers, athletic trainers, nurses, physical therapists and more joined together at the hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana, to honor the success and care they’ve provided for people in Louisiana and across the Gulf South. “What we’ve all achieved for our patients and communities over the last half-decade has been truly amazing and we will make even bigger strides in the next five years,” said Deryk Jones, MD, section head of sports medicine at Ochsner Health. “I’m confident because I know the talent, hunger for learning and innovative spirit that exists across our teams.” With a focus on education and research, the hospital has expanded its medical education offerings, including multiple residencies and fellowships, and has established itself as a leader in orthopedic and sports medicine research. Additionally, the Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute offers access to sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons and other specialists to provide best-in-class care for athletes across Louisiana and Mississippi. Boysie Bollinger gave this gift in honor of his physician and esteemed neurosurgeon, James Kalyvas, MD. In a heartwarming surprise, Dr. Kalyvas was called to a "meeting" and later greeted by family and Mr. Bollinger. As Mr. Bollinger read a letter explaining his gift aloud, Dr. Kalyvas learned that the gift would support the creation of the Joy and Boysie Bollinger Complex Spine Center. This emotional moment emphasizes the deep impact of Dr. Kalyvas's work, and the profound gratitude felt by his patients. This donation exemplifies the importance of philanthropy in advancing medical care and innovation. Ochsner is honored to recognize Joy and Boysie Bollinger for their continued support and commitment to the health and well-being of our community. This donation will significantly advance the work of the Debra H. and Robert J.
