OD4Growth at the "Rencontres Régionales de la Donnée" in Metz, France On December 5, DataGrandEst, representing the Grand Est region in the OD4Growth project, hosted an exciting event supported by Grand E-Nov+. 🌱 Despite social unrest, over 130 people gathered in Metz for a deep dive into the role of data in environmental transition at the territorial level. The event tackled this complex subject, exploring political, organizational, human, and technical challenges. 🏆 Attendees also discovered the talented winners of the Datavisualisation 2024 competition, showcasing creative solutions to represent renewable energy challenges in the region. Empowering Open Data for regional growth in Greece 🌍 The OD4Growth project has wrapped up two exciting workshops, bringing together IT specialists, regional authorities, and stakeholders to unlock the power of open data. 📅 November 26: IT specialists collaborated to develop a unified decision-making framework, address technical challenges, and plan a cohesive open data strategy. A long-term action plan is underway! 🚀 📅 December 5: Stakeholders explored how open data transforms resource management, economic growth, and access to services. 🌍✨ OD4GROWTH Study Visit in Liepāja, Latvia 🇱🇻 (19–20 November 2024) Over two enriching days, project partners gathered in the vibrant city of Liepāja to explore its innovative use of open data for sustainable growth and urban development. 💡 The visit kicked off with the welcome from Liepāja City Council Executive Director Ronalds Fricbergs, who shared the city's vision for a future rooted in innovation. We also heard from Mārtins Ābols about the city's transformative economic focus, and Kārlis Beihmanis emphasized the importance of integrating energy data for a sustainable future. 🌱 🎭 We explored Liepāja’s path to becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2027, where culture is a key driver of urban development. The evening was filled with rich connections at a networking dinner inside a 17th-century museum, celebrating the city’s deep cultural heritage. 🗺️ Day two continued with insightful discussions led by Roberto Sandrini (lead partner, Veneto Region) on project updates. Madara Letinska and Māris Dubrovskis gave an exciting presentation on the role of spatial data and GIS tools in urban planning. “Strengthening open data within territories”. Communication event and stakeholder meeting in France! 📆 The OD4GROWTH project goal is to help citizens in improving their well-being and quality of life. How? By improving the performance and availability of public services and create new solutions with open data. 💡 On August 29, 2024, Grand E-Nov +, the innovation & international business development agency for the Grand Est region, it carried out a stakeholder workshop with the purpose of informing the advances of the project and to invite guests that are interested in participating in the future. In the event it was carried out: ·      The presentation of the analysis of the stakeholders OD maturity diagnostics. ·      Stakeholders could see the similarities among their ambitions and problems. ·      Dissemination of news about OD and European good practices. ·      An expert showed how open data can boost attractiveness. The working group which is formed by: Local authorities and public authorities, were able to have a detailed discussion, and they were able to distinguish the skills and limitations of the players. Stakeholders aligned with the idea of developing open data capabilities, and that this facilitates building a vision, raising awareness of new services, developing open data-based projects. 📆 Exciting Communication Event and Stakeholders’ Meeting in Poland! 👥 On July 30, 2024, the Mazovia Development Agency hosted a communication event and stakeholders’ meeting for the OD4GROWTH project. The communication event kicked off with a presentation highlighting key information about the OD4GROWTH Project. It also served as a platform to showcase the project’s achievements so far and invite guests to participate in upcoming initiatives. Participants had the chance to learn about the project’s communication channels to stay up-to-date. Notably, the Piaseczno City and Commune Office, one of the stakeholders, presented their successful OD practice through the Mapy Piaseczno Portal. The stakeholders’ meeting and Local Technical Seminar began with a summary of semesters 2 and 3. Subsequently, participants received valuable information on identifying local practices and upcoming training opportunities.
