Are the best practices for responsive & fluid #CSS typography actually *the best*? Miriam Suzanne explores ways to improve the common approach in her latest article. In testing, using the widely accepted approach, a user preference of 16px results in ~24px font. A pref for 24px results in ~36px. Where did we go wrong? https://lnkd.in/gvjY8UWd

Catch Miriam Suzanne, Stacy Kvernmo, and Alan Stearns – typography enthusiast, co-chair of the CSSWG, and self-described CSS Panjandrum – in a conversation about relative units. What all should we be responding to, and can CSS do what’s required? https://lnkd.in/g3XdWhK3 #CSS #typograpy

Anchor positioning is awesome... until you run into a situation where it just doesn't work. Here's a checklist for troubleshooting, and a recommendation for how to avoid issues in the first place. While I wrote this as something to reach for when you run into problems, this also digs deep into why anchor positioning has the rules it does. Anchor positioning exposes concepts of how browsers render a page that you probably don't normally encounter, and this article will expand your mental model.
