We envision a world in which all people are empowered to share their talents to strengthen their communities. Communities in which people feel safe, welcome, and connected to the strangers who cross their paths every day. We are helping build this future by equipping civic and cultural organizations to become of, by, and for their communities. OF/BY/FOR ALL provides tools, community, accountability, and coaching on radical inclusion. You bring your own urgent desire for change. We support you with practical tools and a process to make your inclusive vision real. OF/BY/FOR ALL methods help organizations connect with their local communities in effective, authentic ways. The more an organization is representative OF its community, the more people feel seen and heard. The more programming is created BY the community, the more people feel ownership. The more programming is FOR the community, the more everyone wants to participate. We see OF/BY/FOR ALL as an accelerator for change within the broader movement for diversity, equity, and inclusion in community-based organizations. We help busy practitioners go from talking about inclusion to putting it into action with their communities. That means: - In an ecosystem rich in nuance and complexity, we focus on offering specific, tangible methods you can use right now to meaningfully involve your community in your work. - In an ecosystem where change is often facilitated with consultants and in-person conferences, we offer more affordable, networked ways to learn and grow. Our goal is to build OF/BY/FOR ALL as a network of hundreds of organizations with shared values and ambitions.

    How often do you find yourself stuck imagining worst-case scenarios when faced with uncertainty? If you’re anything like the rest of us, this probably happens more often than you care to admit. It's ok, it’s almost as if our minds are hardwired to fixate on what could go wrong. But what if we could change that narrative? What if we could shift our focus to all the good things that might be waiting for us, just beyond what we can see right now? During a recent all-team meeting, OF/BY/FOR ALL CEO Courtney Harge brought up something truly insightful in a conversation about human nature. She pointed out how, as humans, we seem to have an incredible ability to predict all the ways things can go wrong. It’s like our brains are designed to prepare us for potential danger, and sure, that’s useful sometimes. But here’s the catch—while we can easily imagine things falling apart, we often struggle to picture all the ways things could go right. The unknown? We tend to treat it like a shadowy threat instead of a space where endless possibilities could unfold.     At OF/BY/FOR ALL our annual operating expenses are just under $1MM. The majority of our costs are salaries and benefits (approximately $600,000). This is truly what it costs to honor the rigorous, challenging, and important work of facilitation and building thoughtful connections between communities, organizations, leadership, and staff. We honor our team’s labor by offering a thoughtful compensation package that allows them to not only be great collaborators but also active members in their own communities. ❤️🌍 📣You (or a coalition you build) could be the hero that allows us to keep doing this critical work through a major gift. If you're a funder (or several), an angel donor, or an advocate willing to introduce OF/BY/FOR ALL and its work to anyone who would be willing to be our hero, we'd be open to this.
