DID YOU KNOW...We are witnessing the integration of independent living, assisted living, and memory care units within the same developments? There are now more than 1,900 continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) nationwide - also called life-plan communities. These allow older folks to move through the next stages of aging all within the same development by offering multiple types of housing options - independent living, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and short-term rehabilitation. Active adult communities are bridging the gap for the still young at heart who want less property and home maintenance, more community engagement, and a more active atmosphere alongside similarly aging residents…alongside their friends. The BIGGEST game-changer though, is designing senior living facilities that have that feeling of a high-end resort. There is a growing emphasis on luxury in senior living! Facilities are beginning to look and feel less like institutions, and more like communities inside and out that evoke a feeling of living their best life! By connecting shared common areas and resident areas to create a warm and inviting home-like feeling and a sense of community, residents become an active part of their community, which helps keep them engaged and feel less isolated. Our David A. Niles attended The Chester County Commercial Industrial Investment Council (CII Council) Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon today at the Waynesborough Country Club. A huge thank you to the guest speaker, Jerry Sweeney of Brandywine Realty Trust. The overall theme conveyed at today's event is that a wave of change is continuing and a company's brand and culture must be seen and felt in the office. It is felt that the office will once again become a sense of place for employees and over time the importance of being in the office will be enforced.
