To torund out Pride Month and keep the conversation going, ODEIB's Mary Ellen LaRosa sat down with LGBTQ+ Rights Committee Co-Chair Hayley Gorenberg to discuss the vital topic of creating inclusive environments. During the conversation, they delve into the underlying social forces – e.g. professionalism, heteronormativity, cis sexism, ableism – and their roots in white supremacy. We can all train ourselves to recognize and interrupt dynamics of exclusion in order to produce more inclusive environments. And we can all learn to spot the gaps in understanding the are a byproduct of our privileges, as well as learn to own and correct our mistakes without defensiveness. Doing this work can be a process of growth and creativity! It’s not all blame and shame. We encourage you all to listen, reflect, and share your thoughts. https://lnkd.in/eSc-4RjR #InclusiveWorkplaces #DEIB #Allyship #NewYorkCityBarAssociation
