The Ohio UAS Center team wrapped up support of a two-week U.S. Air National Guard exercise in which remote pilots flew an uncrewed military aircraft (MQ-9) to and from the 178th Wing in Springfield. This marked the second consecutive year the MQ-9 was flown to the base due, in part, to the capabilities of SkyVision, a ground-based detect-and-avoid technology operated by ODOT. #SmartMobilityMonday

Last week at the CEAO board meeting we honored longtime CEAO program manager Michele Risko with a Distinguished Service Award. She was a valuable asset to CEAO’s members for over 18 years and continues to be so even though she now works at ODOT District 6. Thank you, Michele for your dedication and support to CEAO and also for your friendship. We know you are doing big things at ODOT now and they are lucky to have you! Thank you for being so patient and helpful to our new program manager, Andrew. You are simply the best and we appreciate you! The I-471 bridge is OPEN! Over the course of just 100 days, ODOT and our partners took this pile of burning rubble and turned it into the safe and open bridge you see today. Now you might be wondering “What’s the big deal? ODOT’s job is to repair roads.” Well, it’s not every day that arson is committed to a fully functional interstate bridge that carries 100,000+ vehicles daily. Hence, why we are so excited that it’s open!! Our staff was diligent, focused, and dedicated to opening this vital bridge as quickly as possible without sacrificing safety. A huge thank you to our partners who helped achieve this goal. Another example of ODOT's commitment to providing a world-class transportation system, no matter the circumstances, that improves the lives of all Ohioans. More details: https://lnkd.in/gB5B7tAs
