Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks recently announced an investment of more than $8 million in projects that focus on the safety of children who walk or bike to school. ODOT is awarding the funding as part of its Safe Routes to School program, which supports education initiatives and builds infrastructure such as sidewalks and enhanced pedestrian crossings. Like any good parent who tries to balance their child’s dreams with real life, Lindsay Boyd’s mom had a simple rule: Pursue your artistic passion, but you better have a stable career that can support you too. https://lnkd.in/g_-HRJrm

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is asking the public to report sightings of wild turkeys and ruffed grouse this summer for its annual population surveys. Community scientists, which can be anyone in the public, are encouraged to submit observations on the Wildlife Reporting System webpage at wildohio.gov or on the HuntFish OH mobile app. Wildlife biologists use public sighting reports of wild turkeys and ruffed grouse observed in July and August to estimate population statuses and reproductive success. It’s important to note female turkeys and their young are most active during the summer. https://lnkd.in/gBrxQjnq
