Ohio's Voice for Suicide Prevention
About us
The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF), is a non-profit 501 (C)(3) whose mission, since 2005, is to serve Ohio as a focus and a catalyst for suicide prevention efforts and to bring about change in attitudes and perceptions regarding the stigma attached to suicide, mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, and addiction. The foundation does not provide direct services to people but is a resource for professionals and agencies that do. Our Mission: The mission of OSPF is to act as a catalyst and steward of statewide suicide prevention efforts by supporting community based efforts to reduce stigma, promote education and awareness about suicide prevention, and increase resources and programs to reduce the risk of lives lost to suicide. Our Vision: All Ohio communities will have the resources and capacity to reduce the risk of suicide, reduce the effects of suicide on families and communities, and positively impact the health of communities.

Equip your students with suicide prevention skills. Learn more about BPO:XP and how to implement it in your school: https://lnkd.in/gZmbcGKp
Suicide Prevention Month has come to an end, but it is still a good time to share the incredible work being done by the Center for Suicide Prevention and Research at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In addition to Signs of Suicide, a suicide prevention program that Nationwide Children’s has helped implement for free in 188 schools across 22 Ohio counties, they have also developed the core programming for Be Present Ohio: The Online Experience (BPO:XP). BPO:XP is an online educational resource for suicide prevention and will be accessible to schools and community organizations this fall. The program promotes open discussions about mental health and educates students on the warning signs of suicide in an engaging format. Thanks to the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation for collaborating and the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services for additional funding for this unique and life-saving initiative. https://lnkd.in/gnVkiczx
