🌐 OIF Releases 800ZR Coherent Interface Implementation Agreement and Key Updates to 400ZR IA 💡 📢 OIF announces the release of its highly anticipated #800ZR coherent interface implementation agreement (IA) alongside updates to the foundational #400ZR IA. These advancements mark a pivotal step in meeting market demands for scalable, interoperable and high-capacity solutions. 🚀 The new 800ZR IA, developed with input from OIF’s network operator and vendor members, defines an 800G line interface designed for single-span, amplified DWDM links, specifically targeting data center interconnect (DCI) applications. It provides a clear pathway for scaling up to 800G, focusing on low-power and cost-effective coherent solutions in small pluggable modules, ensuring high port densities. “This IA is a critical milestone for expanding capacity and efficiency in DCI solutions,” said Karl Gass, OIF Physical and Link Layer WG Optical Vice Chair. 🔧 The updates to the 400ZR IA (3.0) focus on enhancing interoperability and improving definitions to refine industry implementations. Since its introduction, 400ZR has transformed the market, enabling cost-effective solutions for data center interconnects. 👉 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/epP9n3JR #OIF #800ZR #400ZR #DCI #CoherentTech #Interoperability #OpticalNetworking
