This summer and peak fishing season is flying by faster than a 250hp bass boat with 5 minutes until weigh in. And while we’ve been heads down on improving the Omnia platform and growing the business, we need to take some time to celebrate some big milestones. 100K - Last month we blew through the 100,000 download mark for our mobile app, marking a new way for customers to access our store and mapping tools. We haven’t looked back, with July being our biggest download month yet.  Omnia offers a mix of free and paid subscription mapping layers in our Omnia PRO service. 10,000 - Back in March of this year we unveiled our Omnia PRO subscription, which includes access to fishing maps, weather layers, waypoint management and e-commerce perks and we began our promotion campaigns in May. 3 months later, we’ve already passed the 10,000 paying subscriber mark, with no slowdown in sight and showing that there’s real demand for collecting and organizing key fishing information.  We’ve also seen nearly 85% net new customers joining PRO who have never purchased tackle from us in the past. 10x - As we have made feature improvements and new releases to our Omnia PRO service, we continually check in with our customers to get their input. Based on requests for more frequent updates on water temperature changes, we just released a new mapping layer that provides 10 times the sample rate with a nearly daily update on average lake water temp. Cheers to the Omnia team and for our community for a wild season of rapid development so far. There is a lot of fishing left to do in 2024, and a lot more exciting developments around the corner for Team Omnia.

We've been releasing new features for our Omnia PRO members at a blistering pace this year. Thanks to input from our customers, we're including some visualizations that have never been seen in the fishing industry before. We now have access to a ton of data on lake conditions like water temp and clarity readings from satellites. Having a firehose of input is great but the hard part is organizing it in a useful way for anglers. We started by presenting maps showing the latest info in a static view, which was useful, but our anglers still had a tough time recognizing the changing trends in the water. To address this, we've added a date slider to our water and temperature maps that allow members to view multiple sample readings over time, and to slide back and forth between dates. With this info in hand, anglers can more easily find trending spawning or feeding zones and avoid wasted time fishing dead water. Anglers are a unique bunch and that's one of the reasons that a one-size-fits-all approach would never work for our industry. Thanks to all the fish-heads that work at Omnia, and the great relationship we have with our customers, we're able to hear directly from the experts on what they want to see. And then we build it!

Now here's a fun update to deliver. Omnia's mission is to help anglers have more success on the water, by gathering and organizing useful fishing info by lake. Today we're taking another step forward by bringing a new feature our Omnia PRO map layers: depth contours from Garmin Navionics. When we launched our mapping service for Omnia PRO members last year, we sought user feedback from our community of anglers to help us refine and develop the experience. Having comprehensive and fine-grained contours has always been at the top of the list of requested features. Navionics is the most trusted name out there so we're excited to be able to provide it to users, alongside our 10 other map layers with fishing info. It required our development team's creativity and a lot of persistence to make it all work together but now that it's here, it should be a killer feature for those planning an upcoming trip. On to the next challenge!

I get asked if customers are hesitant to buy fishing rods online because it's an item they like to "feel." What they actually want to know is how they'll perform and what they can expect from the rod. Much of that relates to how and where it will bend. Omnia Fishing recently launched new Rod Bend Series to show how each rod action and weight will bend with full explanation on what the action means. This is an incredible resource for customers to feel confident when they make a rod purchase without touching the rod in a physical store. It's also a great resource for learning how to use the rods you already have. As Omnia continues to define "better tackle shopping," let us know what you think and what rod brand and line we should shoot next. All videos in the Rod Bend Series are available using our shoppable video format here: https://lnkd.in/gb5VY6x8 #fishing #ecommerce
