🎣 I'm an angler now 🎣 Last Thursday I had the opportunity through Pure Fishing to go striper fishing on Lake Murray! This was my first time fishing in over a decade and am happy to say I caught five fish 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 Captain Chris taught me a lot on this trip but it didn't stop there, once home I learned how to fully process the fish. That was definitely an experience 😂 BUT out of that process came the first meal I made where I provided the food. That meal was seared striper with a brown butter sage sauce (from our garden!) over some yellow rice! Thank you Pure Fishing for this opportunity, was a lot of fun!

Our Pure Appreciation Week was filled with gratitude, fun activities, and meaningful recognition of the dedication and hard work everyone brings to the table each day. From team-building events to heartfelt shoutouts, it was a fantastic reminder of the strength of our community and how much we value one another. Thanks to a generous corporate gift from Pure Fishing and extra school supply donations from KW Beverage Columbia, we had a mini 'Ready, Set, Supply!' event to top off the back-to-school season! Volunteers from Dominion Energy joined us earlier in the week to sort and pack classroom supply kits for our 20 MRC schools. Then our new AmeriCorps members helped deliver the kits with educator appreciation gifts to schools across the Midlands. Huge thanks to Dominion Energy, KW Beverage, Pure Fishing, and all of the donors, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make this year's 'Ready, Set, Supply!' such a success! Your support provided over 1,100 students in our community with the tools they'll need to succeed in the classroom this school year. 🙌
