While no one likes to miss deadlines, you don’t have to give up your certification. You have options to keep your certification active; reinstatement or retesting as an initial candidate. Learn more about reinstatement here: www.oncc.org/reinstatement.

Premier provider of nationally accredited certification for nurses in oncology and related specialties.
About us
ONCC was founded in 1984 as a non-profit organization. It is governed by a Board of Directors who represent various levels of certification in oncology nursing and the public at large. ONCC administered its first certification examination, the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) examination in 1986. Today, ONCC offers eight credential programs. More than 38,000 nurses are currently certified by ONCC. All ONCC certification examinations are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. NCCA is an independent organization that has identified the essential components of a national certification program and determines if certification organizations meet established standards based on those components. These standards are nationally recognized principles utilized by a variety of certification organizations for certification programs in diverse professions. Accreditation by the NCCA indicates that ONCC programs have been evaluated by the Commission and found to meet or exceed all of its established standards.

Testing can cause nerves that can work against us, not for us. This week's #TestTipTuesday is to stay as calm and focused as possible during your test. If you struggle with testing anxiety, there are ways you can help yourself stay calm, like: Deep breaths Stretch Check in with your posture and adjust slightly in your chair Tense and relax your muscles one at a time Are there any we missed? Share your favorite way to stay calm during tests in the comments!

Oncology nursing can be one of the most rewarding careers a person can pursue. But, on this #WorldMentalHealthDay, we want to acknowledge that oncology nursing can be hard as well. You see patients in the worst times of their lives, and that can affect your own wellbeing. Today, we want to share some resources that could help during those difficult times in your practice. While you may not need these resources today, tomorrow, or even this year, we hope that knowing they exist eases your mind. ONS has created a wonderful library of resources around nurse well-being, like podcast episodes and ONS Voice articles: https://lnkd.in/gWFZBTSK We invite you to share any practices that have helped you through a tough time. We hope that the comments can be a place of support and camaraderie.

Please don't wait until your certification is ready to expire to finish your learning plan and apply for renewal. If you miss the October 15 deadline of the year you are due to renew, you will be locked out of your learning plan and be unable to enter points for renewal without assistance from ONCC. It’s always better to apply for renewal earlier rather than later! #RenewalTip

Applying to renew your certification is a two-step process, with both steps needing to be completed prior to October 15th of the year you are due to renew. Step 1: Submit your renewal application through your account at www.oncc.org. Step 2: Submit your completed learning plan through LearningBuilder. If both steps have not been completed by October 15th of the year you are due to renew, your application will be considered incomplete and your renewal will not be accepted.
