By bringing comprehensive healthcare services to underserved regions, we can help overcome barriers such as limited access to healthcare facilities, shortages of healthcare professionals, and transportation difficulties. Additionally, our program can alleviate the financial burdens associated with healthcare costs for seniors in these areas, ensuring they receive the necessary care without facing financial hardships. We are excited to share an update on 1 of our 3 One Senior Care centers that are currently under construction in Northeast Ohio. A nice highlight from the Star Beacon about our Buckeye PACE Senior Center and Clinic in Ashtabula, Ohio, set to open Fall of 2025. We will be offereing socialization at the center, home care, personal care, transportation, medical care, physical therapy, skilled care in the home, medication management and delivery and so much more! Launch day! Today, the PACE Association of Ohio (PAO) officially launched as a new trade association in Ohio. The Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) began a major expansion in our state after the passage of House Bill 45 in 2022, with providers and advocates pointing to the program’s proven track record of providing quality care, high rates of participant satisfaction and re-enrollment, and the potential cost savings to the state of Ohio in serving more nursing home eligible adults in their homes, with access to the right services and supports. With providers selected last year and work underway to begin new sites in nine Ohio counties, along with the currently active sites in Cuyahoga County, the PACE Association of Ohio will begin its work to advocate for PACE providers, participants, and staff before the Ohio General Assembly, the Governor’s Administration, and all Ohio policymakers and interest groups who interact with PACE, healthcare, and services and supports for older adults. PAO will serve as a state affiliate of the National PACE® Association, the national trade association representing PACE providers, and maintain a strategic partnership here in Ohio with LeadingAge Ohio.
