A day in the life of our Kitchen Supervisor- Nancy Neil! Thanks to donations from our community and local partners, Nancy and her team are able to create a unique and upscale menu for our clients and community experiencing homelessness. Each day, our team at One80 Place stacks hands with our volunteers to provide 3 meals for our clients and lunch Monday - Friday for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Yesterday, the Supreme Court struck down #JohnsonVGrantsPass, meaning that people experiencing homelessness CAN be arrested for sleeping in a public place when there are no adequate shelter options provided locally. “This decision sets a dangerous precedent that will cause undue harm to people experiencing homelessness and give free reign to local officials who prefer pointless and expensive arrests and imprisonment, rather than real solutions,” said Ann Oliva, CEO of the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
