This morning our Chief Product Officer Donna hosted our customer Katie from Snap Inc. in a fireside chat. Katie manages IT and everything under the sun for IT asset management (ITAM). Some of the things Katie discussed during our session: Why Oomnitza: -Customizations -Integrations - Google, Jira, Slack, Jamf (and many others) -Usability with reporting Value to Snap: -Anecdotally: frustration with old platform, and now people are excited to use it -Fewer clicks with all the integrations to make doing their jobs easier and experience better -As an asset manager, she has financial reporting to do and it saves so much time now — helpful for under resourced teams How Oomnitza improves her data so she and her team trust it: -Took the time to clean data before starting with Oomnitza help make it easier to maintain in Oomnitza -“If you trust us, please trust the data” Change management: -Data coming in from MDMs, went to vendors to get reporting, and explained each layer of data which built a lot of trust with the security team -When they migrated data, they saw 3% increase in data validity with us -Once security realized they were a major stakeholder, they were able to have much more productive conversations during implementation Workflows: -Loving low-code no-code builder -Attestation workflows -Loaner workflow — tickets were closing after asset was deployed and now they have the full lifecycle tracked so that loaners don’t disappear How Oomnitza is contributing to Snap’s overall business strategy: -IT team is helping with AR glasses prototypes and demos, which is the next big product for Snap -Spend management for the finance team, cost per employee and cost per job role, give them rich data to make more informed decisions and take a stand on people wanting new software Katie's advice for IT asset managers: -Don’t rush to hit a deadline, be reasonable about your goals -Don’t wait for perfect for a data migration, just do it and have a plan on how to address issues -Bringing management along for the journey — sometimes you need to reframe the problem for different leaders on security risks or budget issues, know the key players and know the thing that motivates them Shoutout to Katie for sharing her Oomnitza journey and ITAM experiences with the mac admins at Jamf's JNUC conference.
