¡ChileCompra vela por la integridad en las compras públicas! 🇨🇱 En Chile, el Observatorio de Compras Públicas de ChileCompra contribuye a la eficiencia, integridad y transparencia mediante la detección de posibles irregularidades en los procesos de contratación. Este año hizo visible su trabajo por medio de un tablero de hallazgos y la publicación de los informes de indicios de hallazgos que cualquier ciudadano puede consultar. Su apuesta por la transparencia de los procesos ha promovido la participación activa de la ciudadanía y puso al conocimiento del público casos donde entidades fiscalizadoras del país han tomado alguna acción como resultado de los informes del Observatorio. ¿Cómo opera? 🧐 Monitoreo constante: Un equipo de analistas revisa una muestra significativa de procesos de compra, enfocándose en aquellos con mayor riesgo de corrupción. 🔎 Investigación de denuncias: El Observatorio recibe denuncias ciudadanas y las investiga a fondo para asegurar el uso apropriado de los recursos públicos. 📑 Recomendaciones a organismos públicos: Se emiten recomendaciones a las entidades públicas para mejorar sus procesos de compra y corregir cualquier irregularidad detectada. 💻 Uso de tecnología: Se implementan tecnologías de información, inteligencia artificial y ciencia de datos para fortalecer el monitoreo y la prevención de la corrupción Conoce toda la historia en nuestro último artículo: https://lnkd.in/egadQcca

This week, the City of Boston announced exciting progress on their efforts to increase the participation of disadvantaged businesses in City contracting. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting this work both as the Director of Supplier Diversity at the City of Boston for nearly three years, and now as the Director for the US at the Open Contracting Partnership (OCP). Through our Lift impact accelerator program, OCP worked with the Procurement Department, Department of Supplier Diversity, and the Analytics Team in Boston to scope and design a dashboard, launched this week, that helps the public, advocates, and businesses understand the City’s progress towards its supplier diversity goals.  The dashboard makes data about the City's contract awards and spending with businesses owned by women and people of color publicly available. This is a HUGE step forward for Boston in making procurement data open and accessible and leveraging better data to close race/gender disparities in public contracting. Boston’s commitment to harnessing the incredible power of public contracts to drive equitable economic growth was on display not only in the announcement of the dashboard and second annual Supplier Diversity Week, but also in bringing together leaders from both the City of Boston and City of Cambridge to sign an important compact to cooperate in expanding both cities’ supplier diversity efforts. This is a wonderful example of regional collaboration to support inclusive economies that empower small, diverse businesses. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Boston and Cambridge! And there's more: Boston also held its second annual Supplier Diversity Week, and signed a compact with Cambridge to cooperate in expanding supplier diversity efforts. Governments today are increasingly relying on technology tools to buy goods and services and generally support their procurement processes. While technology won’t fix procurement on its own, it is a good place to start.  To ensure that procurement decisions effectively address community needs instead of merely serving bureaucratic interests, it is essential to prioritize a human-centered approach in procurement technology.
