Amazon is piloting a program to allow dealers to sell cars through Amazon’s website which begin with Hyundai vehicles but will open to other brands before the end of 2024. About 25% to 30% of car buyers want to do some or all of the car-buying process online, with that number jumping up to 40% for EV buyers. [J.D. Power] “Amazon, I think, brings a level of sophistication, a level of technology, a level of strength in terms of headcount that they’ve got working on this project, that’s unlike any that I’ve seen,” said Jeff Dyke, president of Sonic Automotive.
