DoorDash is fighting delivery fraud with new update. While not widespread, fraudulent delivery claims are causing noticeable harm to restaurants and drivers. Here's what has changed: 1. Customers with frequently reported issues will need to provide a 4-digit code upon delivery. 2. Dashers will now benefit from an improved appeals process - preventing false account deactivations. Why does this matter? 1. Fraudulent claims cost restaurants, as they often have to cover these "missing" orders. 2. Retail fraud last year alone cost the U.S. an estimated $101 billion. 3. Around 1.5-2% of all app orders result in a refund request. While these small changes may not eliminate chargebacks on the app, it's at least a good first step in identifying abusive users. If your restaurant is feeling the chargeback pinch, Orders.co's Dispute Management can help! 1. Up to 90% success rate 2. Included in most service plans 3. Fully automated AI Chargeback Assistant - optional upgrade Contact a rep today and let's start recovering lost revenue! The U.S. Federal Appeals Court has terminated the federal "80/20" restaurant tip credit for tip-supporting tasks. The rule allowed employers to receive federal tip credit for employees that spend at least 80% of their shift working in a tip environment. Effectively lowering the restaurant's wage responsibility to a subminimum wage of $2.13/hr. According to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the 80/20 rule is "both arbitrary and capricious." Resulting in the rule being terminated as it is too vague and open to interpretation, with potential to harm restaurant staff. https://lnkd.in/gBrWgjvq

📸 Size Matters in Online Ordering! We all know that one photographer who wants to break out the macro lens and make everything look larger than life. But when it comes to menu photos, let’s not get carried away! Keeping customer expectations in line with what actually arrives at their door is key. Sure, make your food look delicious, but don’t stray too far from reality. Remember, a satisfied customer is a repeat customer, while an overpromised burger that’s not-so-super-sized leads to disappointment (and fewer stars). #OnlineOrdering #RestaurantMarketing #CustomerExperience #MenuPhotography #OrdersCo
