Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the 2024 Central Oregon Occupational Safety & Health Conference, Sept. 16-17, at the Riverhouse Lodge in Bend. The event featured 40 educational sessions and exhibits from 30 different organizations highlighting workplace safety and health. The conference offered employers and workers opportunities to gain new knowledge and refresh their skills in topics ranging from fire, chemical, and transportation safety to accident prevention, safety programs, and safety culture. The conference also offered sessions focusing on safety and health challenges in fire and emergency services. Nearly 280 participants attended the conference, including both employees and management, with 220 attendees representing the safety committees in their workplace. Industries represented at the conference included manufacturing, emergency services, construction, health care, transportation, and government. Thank you to our partners, the Central Oregon Safety & Health Association (COSHA), the American Society of Safety Professionals’ Broken Top Chapter, and the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association’s Safety & Health Section for supporting the conference.
