❗❗ EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! The Oregonian will return to broadsheet format in 2025. ❗❗   What’s a broadsheet, you may ask?   For those who don’t consistently have their nose buried in print, a “broadsheet” is the traditional layout of a newspaper. It’s characterized by long pieces of print paper, that are typically folded in the middle, horizontally, to read comfortably.   This differs from how The Oregonian currently prints in its ‘compact size’, where the page is folded open, like a book.   This may not seem like a huge shift for some, but for lovers of print journalism, it’s an homage to the old days where print circulation ruled it all.   “In 2025, we celebrate our 175th year of continuous publication and service to our readers,” said Therese Bottomly, vice president of content and editor of The Oregonian/OregonLive. “I love the idea of commemorating that milestone in our classic format.”    Read the full company statement at our blog below. 👇 👇 👇 https://lnkd.in/gBeehrFh

Last night, we took a needed break from screens to celebrate and welcome professionals of color to the #Portland metro area. Yep, you guessed it, we were at the always phenomenal #SayHey event by Partners in Diversity. The event was gathered at OMSI, and thanks to the wonderful team at PiD (special shoutout to Nydia Peña, Nolan Douglass, Amy Vaught and Jenny Kim) we had a blast. We even brought our #HereisOregon photo booth along for the ride. Were you in attendance? Find your photo booth picture & download a free copy within the story linked below. https://lnkd.in/gtcWvG2a #SayHey #PartnersinDiversity

🍁 Over the weekend, folks from our team rejoiced the printed word at the Literary Arts Portland Book Fest. The PBF feels like the quintessential Portland experience, and the blustery rainy day and fallen leaves only reinforced it. 🍂 Literary Arts is one of our #HereisOregon partners. Our #HereisOregon partners are a mix of organizations and nonprofits that celebrate the people, places and experiences of Oregon. I think we can all agree that Literary Arts and the #PortlandBookFestival is a shining example of just that. From now until when daylight savings time returns, you'll find us deep in an imaginary literary world. Our famous last words? Hold my book... 📖

The Power of Storytelling in Digital Marketing 🔑 In today’s digital landscape, where consumers are bombarded with countless ads and messages, standing out requires more than just a catchy slogan or a well-placed ad. It requires a compelling story. Here are a few reasons why storytelling should be part of your marketing strategy: - Emotional Connection: Stories resonate on an emotional level, creating a deeper connection with your audience. They make your brand relatable and memorable. - Authenticity: A well-told story reflects the true essence of your brand, building trust and authenticity. Consumers are more likely to engage with brands that feel genuine and transparent. - Differentiation: In a crowded market, your story sets you apart. It highlights what makes your brand unique and why consumers should choose you over competitors. If you’re looking to elevate your brand through the power of storytelling, let’s connect! 💬

🎃 Oregonian Media Group would like to wish you a Happy Halloween, from our business to yours. 🎃 Our annual Halloween Costume Contest featured Bre Johnson as a Hogwarts Prefect (go Hufflepuff!), Kim P. as the one and only Patrick Bateman (business casual, always a good choice), Larissa Gordon as a Lovely Bones skeleton and Kim O'Neil as a cat lady (claps all around 👏 .) We had a whole assortment of other costumes from the newsroom, including Destiny Johnson as #MothMan and Teresa Mahoney as a spidery sew-queen. Have a safe and fun evening, everyone!

The nine lives of local news. 📰 Our curious news cat was the clever creation of Sean Sterling and local artist Bob Hansen for Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail. This adventure in community art and engagement was thanks to Sydney Mead and the teams at Downtown Portland Clean & Safe and LAIKA Studios. Tonight we bid adieu to this clever creature. Thank you to all who supported this project. Oregonian Media Group was proud to be a community sponsor. #HereisOregon The Oregonian / OregonLive.com
