March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! This year's theme from the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities is "Developmental Disability Awareness Always." It highlights that every person has valuable strengths, infinite capacity to thrive, and the potential to make important contributions to their local communities. In keeping with the theme, we wanted to share about Daniel's employment journey with help from ODHS Vocational Rehabilitation. Daniel loves his job as a Safeway delivery driver, and his employer is happy to have him on the team! #DDAwarenessMonth #DevelopmentalDisabilities #VocationalRehabilitation

Over the last couple weeks, ODHS Office of Resilience and Emergency Management (OREM) staff have been supporting Klamath County’s response to a winter storm. Heavy snowfall has significantly impacted power, water, road and communication systems. At the request of the Klamath County Emergency Manager, OREM worked with partners like United Way of the Klamath Basin with COAD (community organizations active in disasters) partners, American Red Cross Cascades Region, The Klamath Tribes, staff from the local ODHS office and Living Springs Fellowship church. Thank you to Marion County, Oregon Emergency Management for providing mutual aid by loaning their off-road vehicle known as a side-by-side. It was used to drop off supplies to families who were snowed in and needed critical assistance. #TeamODHS #EmergencyManagement
