About us

Connecting people with contemporary art and culture in Mid Wales by providing opportunities to experience artists working within a Welsh context in a stimulating, engaging, inclusive and welcoming environment. We create spaces that are relevant to our local communities by working in partnership to deliver a diverse, inclusive and meaningful programme that broadens the opportunities and experiences of our local area. Our programme is augmented by our story, our sense of place. We look to our local identity, the Davies Sisters, Robert Owen, David Davies, Laura Ashley and Pryce Pryce-Jones. We want to tell local stories through contemporary creative responses. Our work is long term. It involves listening to our community and making our work relevant to those around us. It also encourages collaboration with local and national partners to make it happen. We are committed to health and wellbeing of our staff, board and audience, to equalities and diversity and to a Welsh speaking nation. Our commitment to sustainability and improvements in our environment celebrates the green spaces that are unique to Newtown alongside our industrial and agricultural heritage. We are committed to creating a better community for all and our aim is to continue our transformation through evolution.
