Watching our projects come to life never gets old. We are so thrilled to showcase the new three-story Owatonna High School! This school was designed around the future of career exploration through hands-on learning Career Pathways. The design embraces an abundance of natural light and learning on display. Each space comes to life to help students thrive and discover different career areas to set them up for success after they graduate. We are so grateful for this opportunity to have worked with the District and community to grow their education system. Students in our High School Fire Training program completed another hands-on training experience in December. Students worked on firefighter survival and rescue skills. Firefighters often perform duties in environments that are inherently dangerous. Survival depends on making the right decisions and taking the appropriate actions. Students were challenged as they went through our training maze and worked on different rescue scenarios. Students also practiced horizontal and vertical ventilation techniques. Ventilation is the controlled and coordinated removal of heat and smoke from a structure.

A couple of Owatonna ALC (Area Learning Center) students along with Jess Procopio, school guidance counselor, recently toured the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Minneapolis and learned more about cosmetology as a career. #OwatonnaProud

Congratulations to our DECA - Distributive Education Clubs of America, a program for students interested in business - students from Owatonna High School! Last week, 140 students competed in the DECA district conference, and 108 made it to state. Of those, 39 students finished in first place! The state competition is March 10-12 in Minneapolis.
