Are you ready to elevate your life and career to new heights? It all starts with transforming your relationship with money. Money isn't just about the numbers; it's deeply intertwined with self-worth and confidence. To ask for more—be it money, support, love, or opportunities—you must first believe you're worthy of it. Is your relationship with money empowering you or hindering your growth? Mastering negotiation skills is crucial, but without addressing your inner beliefs about money, you risk falling into old, limiting patterns. It's not just about being paid what you're worth; it's about connecting with the part of you that knows you deserve an abundant life and career. The toughest part of negotiation isn't the ask; it's believing in your worth, regardless of the outcome. To shatter the glass ceiling around money, recognize and overcome these roadblocks: "I don't deserve more." "I am not enough." "I need to do more to earn more." If these beliefs resonate with you, they may be holding you back from advocating for yourself confidently. But there's good news! You can shift your relationship with money, starting now. :rocket: Ask yourself: How do I make financial decisions? Am I comfortable investing in myself? Your answers will reveal much about your readiness to discuss finances, whether with your boss or in your personal life. Now is the time to invest in yourself. If you've been contemplating a raise, let go of the past and embrace the present, where addressing your money mindset can revolutionize your life. Are you prepared to take action and negotiate with confidence, or will you let another opportunity pass by? Share your thoughts below—I'm all ears! Or join The Activator Collective and secure your spot at our empowering April gathering titled "How Your Relationship with Money is Costing You Your Dreams" The event is scheduled for June 11th 11am ET Register here: https://lnkd.in/erw99srw #Negotiation #SelfWorth #CareerGrowth #FinancialFreedom #InvestInYourself

Turning "No" into Know-How: My Journey in Negotiation Early in my career, I viewed negotiation as a daunting challenge. The fear of rejection, particularly the word "no," loomed large and often held me back from advocating for myself. It was a silent struggle that cost me not only financially but also in job satisfaction. I remember the days when I equated my worth with my earnings and external validation. The thought of hearing "no" felt like a personal failure, a reflection of my value. This fear-based belief led me to accept less than I deserved, leaving me with a lingering sense of resentment. But with time and experience, I've learned that negotiation is not just about the outcome but the conversation itself. It's about understanding not only your own needs but also the perspectives and constraints of the other party. Here's the truth I've embraced: Hearing "no" doesn't mean you're not good enough. It could mean "not right now" or "I need more information." It's an invitation to engage, to understand the bigger picture, and to prepare for potential objections. Now, I approach negotiation with a different mindset. I aim for "no" because it opens the door to deeper discussions and better understanding. It's no longer a word to fear but a step towards a more fulfilling career and self-worth. So, let's not shy away from asking for what we want, and negotiate not just for a better deal but for a better understanding of our value and potential. Join us for an empowering session at the event ‘No is Not the End: Why Hearing No is a Step in the Right Direction', where we'll dive into how every "no" can be a building block to your success, teaching resilience, adaptability, and the art of turning setbacks into set-ups for future opportunities. If you're seeking a succinct explanation for why many shy away from negotiating, it's this... They fear the word "no". Consider this scenario, your goal is to climb the career ladder and secure a significant salary increase. The conventional approach? Work tirelessly, exceed expectations, and hope your efforts get noticed. This method can be effective. But it demands relentless dedication and a willingness to face rejection. And let's face it, many dread that. They avoid negotiation altogether, fearing rejection and potential conflict. Opting instead for the certainty of a modest raise or, worse, stagnation. But here's the twist... In the realm of negotiation, especially for women, the fear of "no" can be more daunting than the act itself. Many hold back from asserting their worth, accepting less-than-ideal offers out of fear. Yet, what if "no" isn't a dead end, but a detour? A "no" might mean "not now", or "convince me further". By not asking, you'll never discover the possibilities. Remember, rejection truly is redirection. A "No" gives us the information we need to identify the path to the life we want. Take this insight. If you aim to truly advance, Ensure you're prepared to face "no", and see it not as a barrier, but as a stepping stone. Because that's the essence of negotiation. And this essence of negotiation is what we'll be exploring at our event, ‘No is Not the End: Why Hearing No is a Step in the Right Direction'. Sign up now and change the way you view rejection forever. Because in the end, it's not about the "no" you receive, but the "yes" you're working towards. One of the most enduring myths in the professional world is that you need to be a born negotiator to succeed in business. I'm here to tell you that's not the case. Why? Because negotiation is a skill, not an innate talent. Here's what I've learned: Asking for what you want is crucial. You might hear "no," but that's infinitely better than the regret of silence. Negotiation is about conversation, about finding mutual ground. It's about showing your cards and understanding the needs on the other side of the table. I wasn't always good at this. In fact, I remember a time when I thought success in HR meant keeping quiet and staying out of the way. But that's not how you make an impact. Like many, I believed that to be a great negotiator, you had to be born with a silver tongue or a steely gaze. I had neither. Yet, I learned that negotiation is less about confrontation and more about communication. It's not a battle; it's a bridge. And building that bridge has nothing to do with the gift of gab and everything to do with preparation, empathy, and understanding. That's the key. Negotiation isn't about winning; it's about achieving a win-win. And that's a skill anyone can learn. So, if you're like me, not the natural negotiator, that's fine. Because that doesn't really matter in the end. You can still reach the top of your field. You can still drive change and make a difference. And you can do it all on your terms. It's possible. And you don't have to be a negotiation guru to do it. You just have to be willing to learn and grow. That willingness has changed my life...And it can change yours too. It's your moment to shine and claim the recognition you've earned in your career. Wondering what's been stopping you? I'm here with some savvy advice on how to demonstrate your value and navigate those pivotal career discussions. And if you're not quite ready to voice it out, no worries. Just drop me a line, okay? My DMs are always open for you. #careeradvice #selfworth #negotiation #selfadvocacy #careerdevelopment #mindset #personaldevelopment

My advice to 24 year-old Ashley Take a moment to look at this. That's me, embarking on my career journey. Back then, I had one goal. Earn as much money as possible to pay rent, student loans, and bills so I could be an independent single lady. I landed a job in HR early on, but I was unfamiliar with the art of negotiation...And unaware of my own potential. Now, years down the line, if I could share some wisdom with my younger self, it would go something like this: - Embrace the word "no" in negotiations. It's not a setback but a step forward. Don't fear rejection; use it as a leverage to understand your worth and the value you bring to the table. - Own your worth. Early in your career, it's easy to accept the first offer that comes your way. Hold out for what you deserve, and don't settle for less. - Seek feedback actively. If you're turned down for a raise or a promotion, don't retreat into silence. Ask for reasons, and use them as a foundation to build your case for the next time. - Understand the bigger picture. Negotiation isn't just about you. Consider the business context, market standards, and the other party's constraints and motivations. - Preparation is key. Before any negotiation, arm yourself with data, practice your pitch, and be ready to handle objections. This will boost your confidence and your chances of success. - A "no" can be the start of a conversation, not the end. It might mean "not now" or "I need more information." If you don't ask, you'll never know what could have been. - And finally, detach your personal value from the outcome of a negotiation. Your worth isn't defined by a single yes or no. If I could impart one piece of advice to my younger self, it would be to negotiate not just for better compensation, but for a better understanding of myself and my place in the professional world. What about you? If you could give your younger self one piece of advice about negotiation, what would it be? Tap ‘comment' and share your thoughts. I'm all ears. #CareerDevelopment #NegotiationStrategy #ProfessionalGrowth #OvercomingFear #NoIsNotTheEnd

Controversial question - Should managers wait for annual reviews to give feedback? Absolutely not. Continuous feedback is the lifeblood of modern management. It's the difference between a team that's engaged and one that's merely going through the motions. As a leader, your role isn't just to manage, but to empower. And how do you empower? By making feedback a regular part of your team's rhythm. Here's a startling fact: 85% of employees are more likely to be happy at work when they receive regular feedback. Yet, many managers still save their comments for that dreaded annual review. It's time to break the cycle. As leaders, you should champion a culture of open dialogue and continuous improvement. This means not only giving feedback but also teaching managers how to do it effectively. It's not about waiting for a formal sit-down; it's about seizing the everyday moments to guide and support your teams. So, how can you, as a people leader, empower your managers to drive continuous feedback? 1. Lead by Example: Show your managers how it's done. Share your experiences and encourage them to integrate feedback into their daily interactions. 2. Provide Training: Equip your managers with the skills to give constructive, actionable feedback that fosters growth and development. 3. Create a Safe Environment: Foster a culture where feedback is welcomed and valued, not feared. 4. Encourage Peer Feedback: Promote a team dynamic where feedback comes from all directions, not just top-down. 5. Use the Right Tools: Implement systems and tools that facilitate regular check-ins and feedback exchanges. Remember, feedback isn't just about pointing out what's wrong. It's about recognizing achievements, identifying opportunities for growth, and building trust. When managers are empowered to give continuous feedback, they're not just managing—they're leading. This April 16th, at 12 PM ET, join me and Misha Bartlett, Head of Sales at Pando, for an enlightening workshop. We'll delve into the transformative power of continuous feedback and explore how you can implement these practices to lead a more dynamic and responsive team. For my people leaders and managers out there: Ever had to look someone in the eye and say, "Sorry, today's your last day"? Or tell your squad, "Hey, your pay's getting slashed, but I still need you at 110%"? Yeah, it's rough. But here's the kicker: what if you're in the same sinking boat? Pay cut for you, too, more work, and a whole lot of "What the heck do I do now?" swirling in your head. Makes you wonder if you should just throw in the towel, right? Q: What's a leader to do these days? Hang in there. Leadership isn't just about steering the ship; it's about weathering the storm with your crew. If your current gig feels like it's draining your soul, please don't quit the leadership game all together. We need you and you do have options. We're all supposed to be these unshakeable beacons of hope, juggling resilience and compassion like it's no biggie. But let's be real—it's okay to not be okay. It's fine to feel torn, to not always have that Zoom-ready smile. So, how do you light the way for others when you're fumbling in the dark yourself? First off, let yourself lean on someone. Self-care isn't just some trendy hashtag; it's your lifeline. It's what lets you be there for your team when they need you most. Leading Through a Storm 101: * Own your feelings. Mad, scared, frazzled? All valid. * Reflect on what's bugging you to figure out what you really need so you can ask for it. * Treat yourself with kindness, grace and compassion. This too shall pass. Leadership is about showing up, even when the going gets tough. It's about honest chats and doing the best you can. You matter, first and foremost, so you can be the leader you're meant to be. And hey, if this is hitting home for you, I invite you to swing by my new website ashleypare.com. Go ahead and take my quiz on how to own your worth to start leading from within to keep your head above water. You're worth it.

Let's chat about something that's been on my mind and probably yours too. You know how as women, we're often caught in this whirlwind of expectations? Like, if you're not a mom, people wonder why. And if you are, how do you balance it all with your career? I remember feeling the pressure to become a mom long before it was even on my horizon. It felt like my worth was being measured by whether I'd have kids. Meanwhile, I was just trying to make my mark professionally, which was no small feat. The thought of adding marriage or kids to the mix? Overwhelming, to say the least. We're all trying to find our way through this maze of what society expects and what we want for ourselves. It's like we're being pulled in a million directions, and let's be honest, it's tiring! Our systems don't make it any easier, do they? Have kids, and you might face penalties at work. Don't have them, and suddenly everyone's a health expert with opinions about your body. And those well-meaning questions from friends and family about when you'll tie the knot or start a family? They don't always get what we're going through. Managing a family, career, and home is a Herculean task, and nobody really tells us how to ace our careers as women, get paid what we deserve, or dodge the motherhood penalty. The truth is, we're judged whether we choose a career, a family, or to be child-free. We have to stand up for ourselves when it comes to: * Revealing a pregnancy in a job interview * Asking for accommodations at work * Figuring out childcare * Handling those awkward motherhood chats * Fighting for a fair raise, even if we clock out at 5 * Showcasing our skills after a break * Adjusting our schedules after life throws us a curveball * Explaining that stepping back from work means we're not juggling two full-time jobs anymore It's high time for a change, don't you think? A world where our choices are respected, and our struggles are seen and supported. And if you're nodding along and thinking, "Yes, this is my life!" then you've got to check out my new website ashleypare.com . It's a space where we dive deep into these issues and empower each other to navigate this wild ride. Can't wait to see you there! #SelfWorth #CareerGrowth #FinancialEmpowerment

In the high-stakes arena of performance reviews, it's paramount for leaders to transform these sessions into a conduit for growth and empowerment. The traditional review process often leaves employees anxious and in the dark about their contributions and standing. But as leaders, we have the power to change that narrative. Reflect on your journey—your trials and triumphs as an employee and the wisdom you've garnered as a leader. Have you honed the art of delivering feedback that uplifts and guides, or are you navigating uncharted waters? Remember, the echoes of your past experiences resonate in the feedback you provide. Consider this: effective feedback isn't a one-off event; it's a continuous dialogue. It's about fostering an environment where feedback is a catalyst for development, not a source of dread. Here are some pivotal questions to ponder: - How can I create a feedback culture that's ongoing and constructive? - What tools and resources can I provide to managers to help them deliver consistent, constructive feedback? - What strategies can I employ to ensure feedback is not just heard but acted upon? - How do I navigate the complexities of providing feedback across various levels of management, especially when dealing with prior peers? - How can I measure the impact of continuous feedback on employee engagement and organizational performance? By contemplating these questions, you lay the groundwork for a feedback loop that's rooted in trust and transparency. Your role as a leader is to steer these critical conversations with empathy and foresight, shaping a workplace where continuous feedback is the norm, not the exception. Join us on April 16th at 12 PM ET for an enlightening workshop that will address these questions and more. Together with Misha Bartlett, the esteemed Head of Sales at Pando, we'll delve into the nuances of creating a feedback-rich culture. You'll learn how to: * Strategies that support managers in providing effective feedback * How to align individual and organizational goals * Tactics for fostering a culture of continuous improvement If you're game for more tips on empowering your managers, join me and and Misha Bartlett for a live session and dive into the best ways to back up your managers with top-notch feedback skills here: https://lnkd.in/eK2cWZpY #LeadershipDevelopment #ContinuousFeedback #Empowerment #Webinar
