Heiwa Terrace - the name, the style, and the feel are echoes of the layered history of a varied Asian population looking for a home and place to build community in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. As the building approached the end of its useful life, LBBA Architects took on the project and brought a vision to renovate the building in a sustainable way instead of replacing it. Now it stands as an anchor for the future of the area, offering a modern and beautiful affordable-housing site for the aging population it serves.
