Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with students from Morehouse College as part of PAN's #HBCU Guest Lecture Series. It was a truly amazing experience speaking with very talented students from various academic backgrounds, personal experiences, and career aspirations. We chatted about making the transition into the real world, navigating the corporate world as a Black employee, and how to advocate for yourself with confidence and conviction in places that may not be as inclusive. Special shoutout to Philip A. Nardone, Jr. for giving HBCU students the opportunity to hear and learn that nothing is impossible as a person of color in PR. And thank you to Azizza Brinson for her tireless commitment to #DEI and sharing how Black professionals can successfully navigate their careers in this industry. These conversations with fellow PANelists Ruby Avery, Travin Duncan, and Peyton Bell-Hunter make me proud to work for a company that encourages people to bring their whole authentic self to work. Today we recognize 90-days of PANBlast! I’ve learned A LOT throughout this time, which I’ve shared in this blog post. But the biggest thing I’ve been reminded of is how important it is to TRUST in your people. Our teams have risen to every challenge. At the end of the day, it’s not just strategy that drives success; it’s the people behind it.
