The Florida Aquarium is more than a tourist attraction; it’s an organization on a mission to preserve and protect marine life. We designed a campaign to get people on board for more than just a free visit. We wanted to nurture champions for healthy oceans and wetlands. Yes, we indulged in splashy aquatic puns, but we did it with a p̶o̶r̶p̶o̶i̶s̶e̶ purpose. All messaging and visuals were developed to inspire a wave of support for all things aquatic; from awe-inspiring to aww-inducing. Whether a member visits the Aquarium or not, their support will always have deep benefits. UT Health San Antonio stands as a bright light of hope and healing. Last year, we branded the first ever President’s Luminary Honors to celebrate those who make that bright light possible, with the mantra “With one flame, we can ignite big change.” For their second annual President’s Luminary Honors event we took inspiration from astronomy, star charts, and scientific instruments to celebrate the “Stars Among Us.” Each of the honored “Stars” are philanthropic visionaries who light the way for medical discovery and innovation. The event “save the date”, invitation (complete with movable elements), collateral, and environmental design incorporated the President’s Luminary flame with celestial imagery that was both classic and inspirational. The event was especially heartfelt as one of UT Health’s brightest stars, President William Heinrich, passed away in 2024. We, along with so many others in our community, have felt the benefit of his visionary leadership that has made UT Health a premiere center of research, care, and compassion right here in San Antonio. We were honored to be a part of celebrating his legacy of discovery and hope. When UT Health San Antonio asked Parallel to create a dedication event for their Multispecialty and Research Hospital (MRH), the request was more bittersweet than we could have imagined. The unexpected passing of UT Health’s much loved president who was the heart and soul of the new hospital brought a tempered mood to the occasion. We developed a theme of “Hope is Emerging” that would capture the optimism of the day and while paying homage to the spirit of all of our loved ones, past and present. We utilized the rich visual language of the monarch butterfly, a traditional symbol of renewal, to convey the transformative power of the Multispecialty and Research Hospital to bring a new level of care to the people of San Antonio and life-saving research to the world. The environment at the event blended inspiring imagery, language, and video to immerse participants in the optimism, excellence, and compassion at the heart of the mission of the hospital and UT Health. The program culminated with a reading by Dr. Carmen Tafolla, former poet laureate of Texas and San Antonio, of a poem commissioned for the occasion that captured the emotional depth of a journey toward healing. #uthealthsa #uthealthsanantonio #parallelbrandagency #graphicdesign #thinkparallel

“Create a refreshed, kinder, gentler version of the organization” was the charge we were given by The Kronkosky Charitable Foundation (KCF). KCF leadership felt it was time to communicate more clearly their mission “to produce profound good” and their position as thought leader and partner that strengthens, champions, and amplifies the work of the nonprofit community. Our concept takes its cue from the foundation’s mission “to produce profound good” which we placed front and center as the main positioning line, “The Foundation for Profound Good.” We created the Happy K logo as a combination of “profound” (exclamation point) and “good” (heart). A subtext running through the brand is that the work of uplifting communities can be difficult and often imperfect, but with collaboration and persistence, profound good is achievable. Parallel refreshed their logo and brand messaging to better convey their people-first priorities. We created the tagline “Maximize your tech & your talent” to encapsulate the eSkillz mission of customizing personnel training and management tech to make it useful and user friendly. eSkillz is all about relationships. Yes, it’s the tech that brings clients in but it’s the eSkillz expertise in (con)figuring out problems with highly personalized solutions that keep their clients happy. The brand’s bright color palette and fun (and, yes, punny) language reinforces their lively brand personality. eSkillz simplifies complex technology, creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for their clients. Our long-time partners at The University of Texas at San Antonio wanted to breathe a little life into their One Stop offices where students go for all things registration and paperwork. Why have a wall when you can have a work of art? Taking cues from UTSA’s “Be Bold” brand, we used a bold illustration style to liven up the student-centered space. As a powerhouse in the American Athletic Conference, The University of Texas at San Antonio needed a standout commercial for nationally broadcast games. Parallel developed a dynamic TV spot that sets UTSA apart, showcasing their Tier 1 status, educational excellence, and strong connection to San Antonio.
