Today is a day of celebration! Another cohort of POTS clients has graduated from the education program that we offer in partnership with The HOPE Program. Together we are working to transform lives in our community and find pathways to financial stability for New Yorkers. About us
POTS offers a variety of comprehensive and personalized services to fight poverty and hunger in The Bronx, at no cost to clients. Our free services are organized in three programmatic pillars: •Dignity and wellness program (including shower, haircuts, mail, medical and dental services) •Food Security program (including a food pantry and community dining room) •Long-term stability program (including guidance on the application to public benefits -like SNAP and Unemployment Insurance-, guidance to achieve long-term personal growth -education and employment goals- and legal services to prevent eviction and support housing and income stability).

We are very grateful to Jack and Andres, and entire Fordham University, for taking action to address food insecurity in our neighborhood. This was a blast to cover! At Fordham University, students are ordering deli sandwiches with their unused student meal plans and donating them across the street to local nonprofit Part of the Solution. When I tagged along last Friday, Fordham Food Walks donated nearly 800 sandwiches. This student-led operation is growing by the week! https://lnkd.in/dWuBxhgv
