Our Candlelight Vigil is held each year to unite advocates and honor the lives lost to domestic violence in the state of Georgia. Although we may never know every name, we come together to both mourn loss and celebrate life. Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. We are so much stronger when we fight together. #domesticviolenceawareness #PADV

This evening’s event, Partnership Against Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil is always bittersweet. Saying the names of those who lost their lives to domestic violence this year grounds me in why I serve. The testimonies of Katha D. Blackwell, LMSW and Madam Clerk Ché Alexander humbles and inspires me. Joy, hope and victory ARE on the other side. Thank you to all the partners for supporting PADV and survivors. At Partnership Against Domestic Violence, we have four supportive housing projects. Of those four projects, we have two Rapid Rehousing projects, one chronically homeless permanent supportive housing project, and one transitional housing project. If you are seeking housing and are a domestic violence survivor, reach out to our Domestic Violence Coordinated Entry team below. We will assess your housing needs and add you to our housing prioritization list. Visit us at https://lnkd.in/epmWGT4T

Approximately 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. That's more than 10 million women and men each year. Awareness is the first step towards prevention. Congratulations Lisamarie Bristol and the entire Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office for hosting the second annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5k this past Saturday. It was a great crowd, great weather and exceeded goals! Thank you for fighting for the most vulnerable. Your generosity is appreciated and means so much to this work. I know the beneficiary organizations-Partnership Against Domestic Violence, Ahimsa House and Mosaic Georgia-will put the proceeds to great use supporting survivors and families in need.
