🌟 Our First Mastermind Hybrid Workshop is in the books! Nothing like the topic of strategic planning to generate great conversation. A special shoutout to our expert panel: * Lea Williams, Ph.D. who got us started on the nuances of Stakeholder Engagement. * Adam Compton from North Carolina State University who shared insights on crafting a robust Plan Design. * Hannah Randall from our partners at Armstrong McGuire & Associates, who guided us through effective Plan Implementation strategies. Fun to have a mix of Mastermind Alums (Kelly Musante, Rodney Fuller, CPC, Dean Thompson, Robin Taylor, James Waddey, Emily Dawson Battle) along with other local leaders: Ana Silva Rey, Jordan Fletcher, CFRE, Jean Bock, Kristina Cruise, Daniela Izurieta, Braielyn Peoples, Susan Yarber, IOM, Karen Rech, and Natasha Witherspoon. Special thanks to Alice Joyce and our friends at TowneBank for their hospitality and support of the nonprofit sector (and Lauren McDowell for the photography 😁). Stay tuned for more leadership sessions inspired by our Mastermind Leadership Development program. #NonprofitLeadership #StrategicPlanning #MastermindLeadership #Networking #NonprofitSuccess

Is productivity and peak performance on your list of things to develop? Check out these five books to learn more.
Nonprofit Consultant | Leadership Expert | Mastermind Coach | Podcast Host | Keynote Speaker | Author | AFP Master Trainer
One thing we talk about in our Mastermind program is the design of each leader's "graduate education", an ongoing but measurable curriculum that focuses on individual skill and knowledge development. A goal that often comes up in group discussions is "Peak Performance" or productivity at the highest level. I'm personally fascinated by the topic (but have a long way to go to achieve it 😁). If the topic is interesting to you as well, here are five books you should put on your reading list: * The Art of Impossible by Stephen Kotler. Kotler’s exploration into peak performance explains the neurobiology of accomplishing the 'impossible,' and offers a great toolkit for anyone aiming to surpass their boundaries and achieve extraordinary goals. * Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Csikszentmihalyi's concept of 'Flow' - a state of heightened focus and immersion in activities - provides a foundational framework that has transformed how I understand productivity in the nonprofit sector. Essential reading for anyone looking to leverage the power of focused attention to improve personal and professional outcomes. * Limitless by Jim Kwik. Kwik’s techniques for upgrading memory and the mind’s performance and productivity offers invaluable strategies for overcoming constraints and expanding the capacity of our cognitive resources. * Peak by Anders Ericsson. Ericsson’s research on deliberate practice offers transformative insights into mastering skills, and we’ve applied them to developing our training programs for nonprofit leaders. Another good read to better understand the science of becoming an expert and how sustained effort can lead to peak performance. * The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle. Coyle’s exploration of talent cultivation intersects perfectly with nonprofit leadership by illustrating how small, targeted efforts can lead to substantial growth. 'The Talent Code' has been especially helpful in shaping our strategies for mentoring emerging leaders in the sector. What other peak performance books would you add to this collection??? #nonprofitleadership #peakperformace #leadershipdevelopment
