📢 Recently published in Cytotherapy: Researchers at Texas A&M University demonstrate a scalable method for culturing #iPSC-derived ihMSCs using customizable gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) microcarriers in 3L Vertical-Wheel Bioreactors. This cost-effective approach yields ihMSCs with superior bone regenerative and immunosuppressive properties compared to traditional monolayer cultures. "Vertical-Wheel bioreactors offer the same flexibility and scalability as stirred-tank bioreactors, but subject cell-laden microcarriers to less shear stress, representing a suitable compromise between scalability and agitation parameters for large-scale cell manufacture on microcarriers."
