I have been so fortunate the last few years to serve on the Board of Directors for the PCMA Heartland Chapter. In February each year we host an incredible auction and I go around to solicit donations to contribute. Visit Omaha is always the first one to contribute right away. What a treat that this year I now get the opportunity to visit with former student and current rockstar Matthew Duhs! It's so fulfilling to see former students thriving out in the industry literally all over the world! ♥️♥️

Unwrapping Inclusion: The Holiday Imperative of Remembering Remote Coworkers As the holiday season is aglow with glittering festivities of joy and togetherness, there's an often-ignored sound echoing through the digital corridors of the workplace: the call to remember your #remote coworkers! In the midst of celebration and twinkling decorations, holiday parties loom through physical spaces. Let’s be mindful to extend the spirit of the season to our coworkers who are miles away from the celebratory epicenter. Remote workers often experience #isolation and even more so during holiday festivities as they have been left off of the invitee list.  As we prepare to deck the office halls, our remote colleagues may find themselves facing a different kind of silent night, one that lacks the jingle of office excitement and the warmth of in-person camaraderie. This holiday season let's not merely exchange gifts; let's extend the gift of #inclusion to our virtual team members. For more on inclusive practices for remote workers, check out activity 23: Engage Remote Colleagues with Intention -  from the book Impactful Inclusion Toolkit – 52 Activities to Help you Learn and Practice Inclusion Everyday in the Workplace.

We are excited to announce the slate of candidates for the 2024 PCMA Heartland Chapter Board of Directors. This dedicated group of individuals has been selected for their exceptional leadership skills and commitment to advancing our chapter. Each candidate has passed the requirements for nomination stated in our chapter’s bylaws. The candidates for the various officer and directorship positions are as follows: - President: Melissa Whitaker - Vice President: Meredith Carr - Treasurer/Secretary: Melissa Abuel - Director: Steve Donlin - Director: Kristin Malek - Director: Courtney Meyer - Director: Sarah Morrissey We believe that these candidates bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, and we are confident that they will lead our chapter with professionalism and dedication. As per our chapter's bylaws, additional nominations for any officer or directorship may be made by written petition, signed by 5% of the membership body, within 30 days following notification to the membership. If you wish to make any additional nominations, please ensure that the petition is submitted within the specified timeframe. We encourage all members to actively participate in the nomination process and exercise their right to shape the future of our chapter. Your voice matters, and we value your input.
