New funding opportunities! 🔬💡 In collaboration with its partners, PeDRA is thrilled to announce the launch of two new competitive grant programs. Together with the Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF), PeDRA has opened applications for the Rheum for Kids: Pediatric Skin and Joint Grant, a funding opportunity designed to support early-career researchers in advancing innovative projects in pediatric dermatology and pediatric rheumatology. With this grant, ANRF and PeDRA seek to foster cross-disciplinary research teams to drive impactful studies. PeDRA and the Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. (FIRST) are also collaborating to fund studies through the Pediatric Ichthyosis Challenge Grant. This grant aims to support high-impact research focused on pediatric ichthyosis and related conditions, targeting advancements that address the unique challenges faced by affected children and their families. 📆 Applications for both grant opportunities are due by 11:59PM PT on Friday, January 24, 2025. 🥁 Drumroll, please! 🥁 Exciting news! PeDRA awards Emerging Investigator Research Grants (EIRGs) to six trainees through its September 2024 application cycle 👏👏👏 The EIRG program supports research projects that aim to create more equitable and accessible mentored research opportunities for a diverse group of trainees interested in pediatric dermatology. The program offered three application cycles, in March, June, and September, calling for proposals from medical students or pediatric residents to conduct four-to-twelve-week mentored projects, either remotely or in person. This was my first PeDRA conference and it was such an unforgettable experience!!! I was able to participate in the NextGen forum, present my research, attend focus study group meetings, and connect with so many amazing individuals who are passionate about pediatric dermatology. Grateful to attend the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA) this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona alongside these wonderful #Sanofians. It was inspiring to learn about the world of pediatric dermatology; treatment landscape, ongoing research and unmet needs from medical students, residents, fellows and experts in this field. It was also incredible to have patient advocacy groups to learn first hand what it means for patients and families who live with medical conditions and the impact it has on their lives.
