I couldn't be more honored and inspired to have been named as a finalist for the Founders Award at Lincoln Journal Star's Inspire Awards. The Founders Award recognizes a woman who has dedicated herself to leading a specific community event, project or fundraiser to benefit and improve the lives of women in the Lincoln-area. This is focused on one project or effort rather than a compilation of work. I was nominated for this award for creating Purpose Palooza! - a one-of-a-kind event that brings local nonprofits and local marketers together for good. Mark you calendar for the Purpose Palooza! event on March 28, 2005 at Lincoln Parks and Recreation Auld Pavilion in Lincoln, Nebraska. Purpose Palooza! is a purposeful partnership of Cause Collective and Pen&Pug.

Happy Work in the Wild Wednesday! 🐺 Here's an example of the power of including an engagement piece within your fundraising direct mail campaign. Congrats to Meg Johnson and Susy Miller for adding a notecard for donors to write their words of wisdom on to share with Nebraska Wesleyan University first year students and return along with their donation. This mailing included an appeal letter, reply card with giving options, postage paid return envelope, outside envelope with a "Thank you for being part of the journey!" ink stamp AND "Words of Wisdom" interactive notecard. Watch this video to see what these wise alumni have to say. This is an excellent example of how to turn direct mail into a multi-media campaign. Way to go P-Wolves! 👏🏻
Check out some of our newest P-Wolves who share a special message from alumni dating back to the 50s!

In addition to Marketing Strategy, Creative Writing and Nonprofit Fundraising, I do this... and love every minute of it!
It's been a bit since I've posted a first day of school picture! :) I'm super excited to be a faculty liaison for Buoy Student Agency focused on nonprofits lead by Natalie Haskin and Jack Hughes this semester! Special thanks to Dave Remund, Jill Martin, Adam Wagler and Shari R. Veil for this opportunity to make some waves for good! Buoy is part of The Experience Lab at Nebraska College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g4ScNegP

Feeling beyond grateful...
I started today with the words of a song bird in my head..."Yeah, I woke up feeling grateful, thankful..." 🎶 I've been told it's because of an entire "flock" of women that I have been nominated for the Inspire Founders Award. My business partner, Chubs the pug, prefers the terminology of a "grumble". :) No matter the term, I'm grateful to these women for supporting and recognizing the founding of Purpose Palooza! - a one-of-a-kind event that brings local nonprofits and local marketers together for good. It is a true honor to find my name on this list of remarkable women in our community: https://lnkd.in/gXgCMmRP

Today, I'm putting the finishing touches on my presentation for the first ever Builder Summit! The Global Builder Alumni Network is a The Clifton Foundation initiative that creates a community among students who complete a Builder’s program. I can't wait to share successes, challenges, and advice with new professionals who are navigating change within their organization. I'll even throw in some tips on how to exit and begin working on their own entrepreneurial endeavors. See you at the Clifton Strengths Institute soon!
